If you're still having spots on your panties, you may not be wearing the pad appropriately or you may be buying the wrong "size". The maxi-pads with wings work really well. You can also buy variety packs that have light flow days and heavy flow days. If you have a heavier flow, you'll need to use the appropriate kind. Other than that, you'll get use to it. Its just one of those things that all women learn to deal with.
I started using tampons in middle school. I HATED the feeling of maxi-pads. Tampons felt more secure to me because you didn't feel the little gushes and I avoided the paranoia. I also felt like I didn't have as much odor when I wore tampons as when I wore pads. It also made me feel cleaner. I didn't like the thought of just sitting in my own blood all day. I'm still that way. Some people are pad girls and some people are tampon girls. You'll learn what works best for you.

If you are worried about leaking try changing you pads frequently, but if you are still worried about leaking then I would give tampons another shot because they are easier in so many ways. For example they are descrete, usually dont leak, and leave you free of that parnoid feeling that you are leaking. If you really don't feel like trying tampons again then get yourself a tide pen or portable shout wipes just incase you leak you won't have a stain on your pants to embarass you.

You should do whatever makes you comfortable, if wearing a pad is more comfortable than a tampon, do it.
When I was in school and I had my period, I'd check it before class and during lunch. If it needed changing, I'd change it. Don't worry too much about leakage, if it happens, it usually doesn't make it through your underwear and the cloth of whatever pants you are wearing. If you'd like some extra insurance, you can buy the bigger sized pad, but they feel bulkier.

I was in high-school when I started using tampons, but on most days I'd actually use BOTH. The pad was like a back-up plan in case of leaks.

Ha ha...I have this weird brain freak too. That's why I use tampons, I can't feel them leaking...ew. anyways, I run to the bathroomafter every class to change, cuz I'm pretty paranoid when wearing a pad. I think it's all in my head...

Do whatever it is that makes you comfortable. For me, it sometimes feels like its leaking bad too, just like you. But it's usually nothing. Just change your pad regularly. Check it every once in awhile and you'll be fine! I prefer tampons though, because you can't feel the 'leaking' feeling at all and its much more comfy once you get used to them. Pads will hold you down and for me, it just feels like a big diaper!
Good luck â¥

I hate pads! I have been wearing tampons since I was about 14 yrs old. I feel that a pad is like a diaper. I wear a tampon and then a pantyliner (just in case). The smell a pad gets is super gross. Once you start wearing a tampon your body gets used to it and it will stop feeling uncomfortable.
Good luck!

yea for all of middle school i wore pads. i would always be worried if when i sat down the blood would slosh out of the pad and then i would worry it was gonna get all over my butt since most pads are so short. and i hated the oozing feeling and then having to sit in it. ew. so in the beginning of the 9th grade i tried tampons and since then i haven't used a single pad. i wore pads for 3 years and i still never got over my fear of them leaking so i don't know what to tell you to get over yours, maybe you could put a panty liner right in the back where the pad ends and one on the front so you don't get those little spots. that what i did when i used pads and its better to use the ones with wings cause the ones with out wings get bunched up in the crotch part of your undies causing major leakage. with tampons i never have to worry about leaking though. they are so much better then the pads. i dont plan on using another pad for a loong time

Nothing wrong with either one, some say pads feel like your wearing diapers, and some hate using tampons. Its what ever you get used to and no matter which one you use, you should change it often. I wear pads and dont mind them at all.

Yes all women feel the blood on occasion. I usually end up sleeping 24/7 when I'm on my disease. No it doesn't freak me out anymore because I'm used to it. Yes you should wear pads to school unless you want to have a huge stain on your pants. Just try not to think about it and make sure you take money to get pads from the vending machine in school or bring a few with you in your purse and make sure you change them.
