A few days ago, I heard a quick headliner on the news about smoke coming from a Senate building, but it's as if it was completely dropped. It scared the heck out of me, but it was as if it was just erased. Nothing on CNN, NBC, etc. What happened?

Hello, Your question aroused my curiosity since I did not see the headline myself. So I googled it up with these search terms. "Senate smoke" and came up with this article from USA today: http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2007-07-25-senate-evacuation_N.htm
As far as the story being erased, this happens all the time. It drives me crazy too.

Yes, I heard about it and then nothing more. Just like you.
I think the News Media got excited over a drunk Movie Star and well, that was pretty much all I heard for a couple of days.

It was just a small electrical fire. I didn't hear anything about it until I looked it up...
