I was always told that if you don't apply moisturizer to your skin then you skin may think it is too dry and make additional oils. I am 38 and people always think I am about 30. I believe it is because I moisturize 2 per day and have since I was your age.

No applying moisturizer will not suppress the oil your skin produces. The amount of oil skin glands produce is regulated by hormones, your pre-set tendencies, diet and external stresses.

The idea that moisturizer will help prevent excess oil production is from when harsher facial cleansers that over stripped & irritated the skin were popular. After using such a product, the skin needed to be soothed.

Just use a gentle cleanser that doesn't irritate or dry out your skin and apply moisturizer where needed.

Moisturizer won't shrink oil production. All dermis desires moisture, even nevertheless, oily dermis desires different moisturizer than dry dermis. whilst paying for moisturizer, make advantageous that it quite is for mixture dermis, or use 2 categories on the various aspects of your face.

moisturizer hydrates the glands. if you have oilily skin, don't use moisturizer b/c your glands are already producing extra sebum (oil). if you have combo. you still need to use moisturizer, but just a little bit, and not as much as somebody with just dry skin would

yes you do have conbanation skin...like most people actually.you have to always use moisterizer since oily skin in no way means health moist skin!!!!
all you need is a good (what every brand works for you personaly) moisterizer perfer none oil moisterizer and put it all over your face dray and oily part.
a big reason your face will be very oily is its not moist enougt. better explai: washing your face with what ever you use even if its just water it strips your face of the oil and so your skin will over produce to make up for it. so after cleaning your face morning and night put face cream on it!
for me a brand name called Clarins works best and they have an oil that is made all natural and oen fo them is made for oily skin. and you put it on at night and it helps calm the glands from over producing oily. me personaly, I just LOVE that oil, and yea i was freaked at first to try oil on my very oily face.
