The iTunes audio files are 128kbps AAC encodong. What is it compared to in MP3 (128, 192, 256, 320, etc). I also have the same question about WMA and MP3. Can you please help me? Thanks.

Each one claims to be better than the other at comparable rates. It really doesn't matter what anyone tells you! The only TRUE test is your own two ears. Listen to each one at different encoding rates and see what your ears tell you.

I personally feel that anything encoded at 128kbps sounds OK but not anywhere close to the original CD. 192 and 256 are much better and I rip all my stuff to at least 192kbps.

I agree with the above except for the 128kbps. 128kbps is more FM radio quality, while 192kbps is more like CD. Above that I doubt you'll notice a difference.
