I have a standard American keyboard.
Is there a way I could program Alt E to type the euro character, and Alt L to type the Brit.Lb.?
Also the c with a / like we use for US cents.???
I don't want to have to type 4 or 5 keys to get one character.
I use Microsoft XP and Works for WP, also sometimes Word Perfect and MS Notepad.
Thanks!!!

to type the cents sign hold down on the alt button while pressing 0162 ¢. for the britsh pound sign you do the same except you press 0163 £ but you have to use the key pad on the right. also make sure your num lock is on. for euro currency its 0128. go to this page to get all of thew codes: http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/international/accents/codealt.html#currency
I dont think you can program your keyboard. You would have to open up your keyboard and it would take forever. =)

Check your character map, you match the fonts and find what symbol you want, you then click on it, click the "select" button, then click the "copy" button. Go back to the document you want it on and paste what you just copied. It should appear there and it doesn't matter which word processor you use.

Oh, and the character map can be found by going to the following:

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools

Go to Insert> Special Character/Symbol, and scroll down until you see what you want.

I believe most computers have the dollar, pound, euro, and Japanese yen symbols.
