There can be pain when the hymen breaks upon penatration. There can also be some blood. But it doesn't happen to all women/girls.

The hymen is the thin membrane that sometimes covers the opening to the vagina if you're a virgin. I say "sometimes" because, even if you haven't had sex, the hymen can do a bit of a disappearing act due to an overzealous workout at the gym, horseback riding, tampons, and even passionate "heavy petting" with your boyfriend. (It's not an impenetrable barrier, anyway, as it has holes to allow menstrual blood to escape.)

It can be. Not every girl is going to have a tight, in-tact hymen. Hymens are VERY fragile and can be torn by a sharp fall on your butt or from tampon usage or other athletic activities. And some girls are born without a hymen at all.

Additionally, the guy might not have been big enough to tear your hymen, and with enough lubrication (natural or artificial), bleeding and tearing don't always occur.

i didn't bleed my first time either. i found out with later experiences..... that it was most likely do to the fact that he was verrrrrrry small. !! kinda glad the first time was with a little guy!! hahaha

Some bleed and some don't. Probably, you didn't bleed because your hyem was already broken. (It could have been broken through sports, horseback riding, bike riding, or an injury)
