I had my surgery 2 months ago and I do not have health insurance so I paid the full cost. Each Breast Reduction procedure will vary in prices depending on the hospital which you are admitted to and the qualifications and reputation of your plastic surgeon. I paid AU $11,500 in total. The costs worked out kind of like this in Australian dollars:

Plastic Surgeon - $6,500
Anaesthetist - $500
Anaesthetic- $1,100
Assistant Surgeon- $500
Theatre- $1,200
Hospital - $ 500 per night
Plus additional costs.

You can read a lot of my answers on other peoples questions but I used the web site
www.locateadoc.com
for research. You can see hundreds of before and after photos, animated 3D slide shows of the various techniques available and heaps more.

My surgeon used the Le Jour insision which inolves less cutting so therefore less scarring, quicker healing and a more natural, even and round shape.
I had 500 grams of solid tissue cut from each breast and 100 grams of fat removed from each using liposuction.
The insision running vertically down from my nipple was stitched on the inside with dissolvable stitches. My nipples were cut out although still attached to nerves, tissue, etc so that they could be reshaped to suit my new breasts. They were reattached to my skin using only 3 stitches on each nipple and they were set into surgical glue which is fantastic as it has prevented scarring around the nipples.

Feel free to email me if you would like more info. Or check out my profile to see the other questions and answers relating to breast reductions.

I had my breast reduction surgery three years ago and its the best decision I ever made. I'm so happy with the choice. Like you I have severe back pain but on to of that I just had no self confidence. Even though men still found me attractive I didn't believe in my heart that I was really attractive and I always wondered in the back of the mind why they were with me and worried they just wanted to date the 'bog boobed girl'. So I went down from a FF to a medium C and I could not be happier!

I'm not sure where you are based but I'm in Australia and went to a place called Form & Function and they were really great http://www.ffclinic.com.au/. The main thing you need to look for when you are looking for a doctor is that they listen to you and they make you feel at ease. Also make sure they are registered with whichever surgery board is relevant for your area.

It cost me $75, which was my hospital copay. Insurance paid 100% of the $8,000 the procedure cost.

I do not regret it one bit, I have a ton more info for you but it it totally worth it, my back pain was GONE when I awoke in the recovery room.

I had it done in Feb 2006 38J to 38C and only wish I got it done sooner.
