Oh, i know how you feel, i get the same way
I try to take Ibuprofen as soon as i wake up, then as often as the label says i can (i think it's four hours) just to avoid cramps because i know i get them
You can also try taking warm baths and such.
Best thing to do is to keep your body relaxed; so don't scrunch up into a ball because it'll tighten it up and hurt more. also, laying down helps
Best thing to do is just take ibuprofen (like, the straight stuff because the midol has caffeine in it which can irritate more..well it does for me) to try and avoid it
Also, as crazy as it seems, exercise: walk up stairs and around your home and get out. This will help, alot.
You get cramps from blot clots (i think) and the exercise helps them pass through better. Plus, exercise will take your mind off it. I know it's summer and you don't have school (well if you're around my age..I'm in high school), but it's a waste of four days (or however long it is) to just lay down and let your life pass you by.
Hope this helped! (=

Sorry girls you are newly inducted into the Woman's club... I'm an old timer, so here's what you do... Midol is ok to take, just follow the label. .It's important with ANY med whether it's aspirin/ibuprophen etc that you follow the dosing instuructions exactly.. Also, it's good to stretch and take a warm shower or bath to relax your muscles.. Cramping is a natural function of the uterus shedding it's lining which is menstration.. Also, going on a birth control pill, can relieve some of the cramping associated with your period it's important to take it as directed as well. . ONE hour BEFORE or AFTER the usual time taken.. A heating pad helps as well. and Congrats you are a woman now !!!

it depends on the midol you took. there are two diff types of midol with different active ingredients. if the midol you took has acetominophen (Tylenol) in it, then you can take some ibuprophen (advil, motrin) as well. Ibrprophen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that helps reduce menstrual pain.
also try putting a heating pad on your stomach or lower back, it always helps me.

drink plenty of fluids (water, cranberry juice) and stay away from salty foods.

For myslef, midol does not work. I need something stronger. My grandma has 800mg pain meds that really seem to kick the pain. But i dont reccomend that you go snooping thru your grannys pills. Instead, 3 days before your period take 2 ibprophens morning and nite everyday. But the time your period gets there you'll already have the pain meds in your system. My doctor is the one that told me to do that but most of the time i forget to take them so i'm stuck with taking my grandmas pills! lol! Anyways, hope this helps

Ah yes periods, the BEST excuse to spoil yourself...!
Milk chocolate helps (makes you feel good), big mugs of tea, hot water bottle/heat pad, and stick with the midol or something stronger.

Just take warm baths for about 10 to 15 minutes, drink plenty of water, always where some flip flops or something...NEVER stay bare feet...and just relax..probably take a nap...and you should be alright after that....and if it doesn't work then get some help from a doctor!

lay down & use a heating pad. you will be in *heaven*. i have HORRIBLE cramps also. lay down, drink something cold, take advil (only thing that works for my cramps) and use that heating pad.
you may want to consider birth control also. I am on Ortho Tri-Cyclen and I haven't had ONE cramp since my body has been adjusted to it (took 2 months for me, 3 months for some). & My cramps used to be so bad I would have diarerrha and I vomited sometimes.

Chamomile tea really works for cramps. Try a cup with a little sugar.

OMG, i know what you mean... What really helps me, take one of those water bottles that you fill with hot water, and put it on your stomach! That helps... Also, you could take a nice, warm bath. It doesn't help with the cramps, but to make yourself feel better, satisfy your cravings with a nice big CHOCOLATE BAR!!!! YUMMY! LOL, ok well e-mail me!
