You know it is sad to say, but I really think some of America has been deduced to a vote based on race, gender .
I think a large portion of Generation X & Y, will vote for Hillary because she is a woman. I think others will vote for Obama as a result of his popularity and maybe his color. This would actually symbolize change in America and exceeding boundaries that were once thought impossible.
I don't care who the President is as long as he/she acts in the best interest of the American people, with a true Ronald Reagan ideology.

Being a recovering Republican , I will vote for the Democratic contender. Seven years of this trash running our country and yet the majority of responders here are still ignorant as to the condition on the country. The right screams that its the liberal Senate that's lame, conveniently forgetting the last session when GOP had a stranglehold on the country. They allowed a BAD , misleading man to corrupt the executive branch, they ruined the middle class, turned their collective backs on the poor , gave corporations the green light to pillage, and knocked conservation back to the Dark Ages. In defense ,the little Republibots that post here , fall back to the ridiculous but what about Bill Clinton...? ,defense. The nation must vote Democratic to bring back balance to the government , not liberal, not conservative, but a combination of the principles. That's what most of you seem to miss. You are either too young to fully understand , certainly not your fault, or too victimized by the constant propaganda from the Republican money machine to realize the most important factor in politics, or life for that matter: BALANCE. Vote with your brain. Vote Democratic.

Their race and gender are non-issues. In Texas the Democrats and Republicans have nominated only 3 women in history to run for Governor. Two won and the other ran a close race. A female Independent candidate got more votes for Governor than any other independent that I know about. The fact that few blacks and women hold elected office has more to do with them not getting on the ticket to begin with.

Yes Americans would and Americans will some day.
I would vote for a team of Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama. They ought to decide how they'll team up. I think Hillary Clinton would make a very good VP in the style of Cheney. Only she wouldn't be so knuckle-headed as Cheney.

I think that most of Americans could vote for a black person or a woman. I do not care what party they belong too. I
would vote for Collin Powell in a second and I am not so hot for the republicans.

In a Democracy race and gender is not suppose to matter. But of course we know that's not The way it is!!
I used to be a democrat. No natter who my party put up I voted for them no matter what. If it was my race I would vote for them regardless.
NOT ANYMORE . I VOTE ON ISSUES & RESOLUTIONS
Beyond party,gender,or race.
Right now, Clinton & Obama......look pretty darn good in those areas.

Trying to endow or nation all we will be is just S-H-I-T mess.

You ask the two questions as if they are the same. Americans would vote for a black or woman president, but they probably won't vote for Clinton or Obama because they are too liberal. Americans will vote on the policies not their color or gender.
