We just returned from Acapulco Mexico and found the questions odd. Horseback riding would have been something we considered because my daughter loves them but the only horses around were the cart pullers and they look sick so no one touches them. What would they do if you did go horseback riding or visit cattle?

According to the CDC, foot and mouth disease that cattle get cannot be transferred to humans, and the hand foot and mouth disease that humans get cannot be transferred to cattle.

Because of anthrax and mad cow diseases. They can be passed by having barnyard manuer on your shoes and then walking onto a barnyard in the U.S.

Horses would be mostly bug carried diseases from mosquitoes, fleas or ticks. They carry malaria, Lyme disease, Yellow fever... But the current buzz is probably about the latest strain of West Nile Virus for Mexican horses.

Cattle is the same bugs, but also fungus and foot and mouth disease.

i suppose cattle ,horses must have some germs.i remember immigrants from rural areas had to change shoes from their
old ones to brand new ones before boardingthe plane to Australia.
