My laptop screen has 1280 by 800 screen resolution (15.4") with X-black LCD with double lamp technology tft

Would the picture quality of the screen be similar to HDTV with same or similar screen resolution or would it be huge difference

my laptop has hdmi socket and blu-ray player btw

it can display to a maximum of 720p (1280x720). so yes its HD. its not a 1080p display though (1920x1080). it will be the same as 720p hdtv's

u mean X-BRITE...its the same technology that sony uses in their line of Bravia tv's

anyways i have the same laptop (sony fz180 or fz190) and the picture quality is truly amazing watching blu-ray movies
