Is it because they have a nuke? And they don't threaten us with it because we give them a degree of respect/friendship that we rarely give anyone in the Middle East? Even as AlQueda is having a picnic all over their wild outdoors...

So is it any wonder Iran wants a nuclear?

Yes, but I don't think Pakistan is actively hunting them anymore since this is difficult to do when 95% of their people and national army sympathize with the terrorists. But good answer 1st responder, because at least their unpopular president is still trying (but failing).

To smart E: Yes, but their nuke can reach Israel. And they are not so actively hunting anyone if you read some of the ground reports. Plus, what if their very unpopular president is overthrown by extremists, what then? Also, their nuke is actually a deterrent for India, and India is of course also our ally! What a mess these political games are.

Yes, I know we are friendly with those countries, most because they have oil deals with us and some, like Jordan, because they have relations with Israel.

Because Pakistan activly hunts Terrorists in their own country - so we don't have to do it for them, thus we are friends.

its tactical.. look at the surroundings of Pak..

Russia, Afghan, Iran,Middle EAst, India. China... US has no hold on any of these countries.. so its always better to have an ally in this corridor.. nothing about being nuke or no nuke.. Just keeping an eye on the surroundings.

Good question, I've wondered that myself many times. Pakistan has nuclear weapons and yet they are not part of the non-proliferation treaty (neither is Israel). Musharraf has made no serious effort to clean out the Taliban or Al-Qaeda and yet our government flaunts them as our ally in the War on Terror and gives them millions of dollars. What the hell is our government doing???

HHAHHA! IDIOT!

Where did you get the idea of 95% of the population sympathisie with the terrorists.

Did you NOT see the hunndreds of thouasbds of people marching agianst 'radical' Islam being introduced by the Lal Masjid.
I bet that the western media did not show such marches that were going all across Pakistan. I wonder why they did notr show it?????????

A majority of Pakistanis disagree with terrorism, whether that is in the name of Islam, or whther it is America terrorising or in fact Israel scaring defenseless old women.

So please stop with the verbal diorhea.

We need all the friends we can get over there to help us win this war on terror...

Iran just wants a nuke to "blow Israel off the face of the map"...they hate Israel....this nuke is going to be the start of a very long or a very short war....

Israel is going to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities right when Iran almost has the bomb. Iran is probably going to strike back, saying that his nuclear program was for energy and Israel attacked for no reason. So, a war is probably going to break out over there soon, but that is just my opinion.

Ok, clueless dude.

Their nuke can't reach the US. They can barely get one to fly to a neighboring country.

We have strong relations with other middle eastern countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, Kuwait

AlQueda is not picnicing. They are running and hiding from the Pakistani Defense Forces who are actively hunting them.

"the enemy of my enemy is my friend"

The United States and Pakistan both share a common enemy in the Taliban, and its supporters.

The sad part is whenever the US dose these types of things (supporting Iraq during the Iran/Iraq war) it always backfires.
