I've lost 30 pounds so far this year and I feel and look great! My problem is that with my new looks, I've acquired a nasty attitude! I don't understand it at all -- I'm usually an even tempered, happy go lucky person! Any suggestions or advise? Thanks!

I'm following the Weight Watchers diet, and I've lost it slowly. I'm just curious if this "new attitude" has happened to anyone else following weight loss!

Sophia, first I went to my doctor and had a complete physical. We discussed me trying to eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones. That along with portion control (Weight Watchers) and looking at the ingredients on the back of everything I eat -- if sugar is in the first 7 ingredients, I don't eat it. It hasn't been hard at all - in fact, the first 20 came off so fast I was amazed! I've got 15 more to go, but I've leveled off for now. My doctor is thrilled and hubby is, too! I've got tons of energy now and I love to shop for clothes. I feel sexier than ever, but I'm a witch!

I know that I get in a pretty crabby mood when I haven't eaten enough during the day. My blood sugar gets low, and it's like I go into caveman survial mode. Just make sure you are getting enough food during the day. I know when I was on weight watchers, i tended to not eat all my points. I tended to find that on those days, even though I felt full, I still didn't feel right. I was crabby and tired. I guess I wasn't getting all my nutrition in.

Congratulations on the weight loss. I know you must feel great!

It sounds like you are a very healthy person and healthy (both physically and mentally) people can control their attitudes. If you have lost weight using some sort of dietary aid or something like that then you may be experiencing some sort of side effect and may want to consider changing the aid. You may want to begin writing down the times when you feel your attitude starting and then see if you notice any trends or triggers.

You can be a happy go lucky person again. :-)

If you've lost the weght by not eating enough food, then your irritable attitude is most likely due to you not having all the rights nutrients, vitamins, proteins, etc, that make up all the right hormones and chemicals and other things that affect your emotions and how your brain percieves and handles stress. You might want to go to a Dietician or Nutritionist and make sure you're getting all the right amounts of the right stuff.

Sooooo many different things could be causing this. You're craving something that you no longer eat, you're upset that you look better but your mate doesnt, you're upset that you waited so late in life to lose weight... all sorts of things could be upsetting you subconsciously - only you can look within yourself to find out the why's and what's.

You have this subconscious thought that fixing your weight would fix all your problems, but the other problems are still waiting for you.
