My wife is 36 almost 37 weeks pregnant. She had both of our sons at 38 weeks exactly with normal labor and delivery. Now our daughter is breech and the doctor says she will need a c-section with this one. We go to the doctor today but we're both scared hes going to say we have to wait another week. We have heard of the danger of going into labor with a breech baby and would rather it be preformed at 37 weeks than risk her going into labor. So when do you think he will want to preform it? (yes we are going to tell him our concerns today just curious as to what you have experienced and went through regarding c-sections and breech babies)

PS: she was hospitalized with preterm labor at 32 weeks, and the doctor doesnt seem interested in doing an external cephalic version due to her already dialating and effacing...and being on terbutaline due to constant strong contractions

I'm in a very similar situation...I would say tell the doctor that you would prefer him to do the c-section at 37 weeks instead of waiting. If he says no its too risky than at least you spoke your mind. Make sure you voice all your concerns!

ok the probabilities of two docs telling you it is sweet to have a C-section and not utilising a scientific reason is very no longer likely. there's a great style of the explanation why you are able to choose a C-section. And whilst you're in hard paintings, and for some reason you might have a C-section and you ask for a 2d opinion then that's in basic terms stupidity. often a rationalization for a C-section once you have been going to have your youngster certainly could be some thing medically incorrect and could desire to place you and your youngster's life in threat. I understand being frightened of surgical operation however the priority is that in case you or your toddler's life is in threat is it somewhat going to rely? Or is the certainty that your scared going to return before your youngster's wellbeing? it is not the docs fault in case you choose a C-section..

push for the version, if it stimulates labor the baby is already term at 37 weeks. Otherwise the dr will likely schedule a c-section for 38-39 weeks. But don't do the c-section to make the dr happy, do it only if a version fails. Dr's love c-secitons because they are convenient and they get paid more. But they are often un-necessary, and are harder to recover from and pose more risk to mother and baby.

37 wks is considered full term. However, the longer the baby is the mother the better it will be. I would just express to your DR. that you would like to have the c-section at 37 wks because of your concerns. My Dr. is very understanding and always takes my concerns into consideration. I think that is very important.

I wouldn't be surprised if he scheduled her now.

C-sections can be done a week sooner or later, don't worry so much. C-sections are pretty routine and aside from the longer recovery for your wife, they are actually easier on the baby.

SO JUST THAT TELL YOUR DOCTOR YOUR CONCERNS. IF THERE IS NO HEALTH RISK THEN THE DOCTOR SHOULD GO AHEAD WITH YOUR WISHES
