well if you are going into water you have to use tampons!! some womens find it easier to crouch down with their knees apart or to stand with one foot on the toilet seat or bath.hold the outer insertion tube by the finger grip rings with your thumb and middle finger... with your other hand, spread the folds of skin around the vagina opening .so, gently slide the aplicator in and upward andbackward direction, stop pushing whenyour thumb and your finger touch your body... push the bottom of the of the small tube completly up inside the big tube, gentely take out both applicator tubes together. you'll see that the cord of the tampon is hanging down outside your body!! IF THE TAMPON IS INSERTED PROPERLY, IT SHOULD BE CONFORTABLE TO WEAR,BUT IF IT FEELS UNCONFORTABLE IS PROBABLY NOT PLACED FAR ENOUGH INTO YOUR VAGINA!! this are the directions to put a tampon... ALSO RELAX- IF YOU TENSE UP IT WILL BE MORE DIFFICULT TO TAKE OUT,JUST PULL THE CORD GENTLY DOWN AND FORWARD DIRECTION!

There are directions inside the tampon box, Those should help. Also NEVER WEAR A TAMPON FOR MORE THAN 8 HOURS! If you are not in the water you should not use a pad, but if you are not going into the water you should wear a pad just in case some blood decides to sneak out. You will need to change your tampon EVERY time you get out of the water because, water will soak up inside your tampon with the blood. I hope this helps.

The tampon takes the place of the pad. Tampons absorb the menstrual flow as it leaves the uterus, by being inserted into the vaginal canal. The fluid (barring any leakage) never leaves the vagina.

You should follow the instructions found inside the package to learn how to insert a tampon correctly. I would recommend trying a plastic applicator tampon and use the smallest size available to start with (till you're used to them and know your flow rate).

Good luck.

You have to insert it in the second hole if you buy tampons there should be inserting instructions or go online and it will tell you. It might be harder if you are still a virgin because you hymen is in the way. Anyways if you are wearing a tampon no you don't need a pad too.

Read the directions in the box. You do not need to use a pad too (the point was that you shouldn't use a pad in the water).

try starting out with tampax light with applicators. the purple ones. some girls like to sit on the toilet with legs spread open. some like to stand in front of toilet with one foot resting on the toilet seat. whichever gives you the best angle to insert it. hold the middle of the applicator, usually the raised part, between your thumb and middle finger. your pointer should go at the end of the app, or where the string is. insert the top half in as far as it would go.... don't force in! once your fingers touch the lips of the vagina or ur fingers are almost in, slide the top out using the pointer finger as holding the tampon in place.

the Diva Cup is better for you, less chance of toxic shock syndrome, and it holds more liquid than a tampon.

with a tampon you shouldnt need a pad underneath, but some women wear a pantiliner just to be safe and not stain their bathing suit cos tampons leak like crazy :)
