You know man. I realllllly LOVE metal now. Not because I hate the world and want to kick my bible in a pool of blood but because of the energy. It feels good. It releases my endorphines. I suggest you try that before you lock yourself in a closet or start masturbating with your own tears.
Actually man, I decided I'm gonna give you a real band that actually changed my life. They're called Dredg, they're out of LA, sorta progressive rock. Amazing live. The **** they talk about though, like how we should treat ourselves and each other, is really healthy. One of their albums, El Cielo, is a concept album about people diagnosed with sleep paralysis (kinda like your body's dying but your mind's awake to know it- pretty scary and gripping at times) but it was also based around a painting from Salvador Dali: "Dream caused by the flight of a bee..." cause Dali's wife had sleep paralysis. They're most recent studio album, "A Catch Without Arms" was ****ing phenomenal. As talented as they are, they're also artists and did a painting for each one of their songs off that album. You check it at dredg.com. If you start listening to these guys and they really change your life too, let me know. I like hearing that kinda thing. And before I go I'll leave you with a quote:

I Get Around -- The Beach Boys
Personally, "Ain't No Sunshine" or "How's It Gonna Be" strike me as slightly melancholic songs. I would rather listen to something more light sprited.
