As often happens, I have a specific song running through my head the past few days, popping up and 'playing' again and again for no apparent reason.

The only problem is, this is a heavy, depressing -- but beautiful -- song (if you want to know, "Big Louise" by Scott Walker from the 60s -- I wouldn't expect anyone to know it, lol), that is somehow connected with a significant situation, and feeling, from my past.

I've listened to it several times, which usually 'washes it out', and tried to listen to others songs to 'force' it out, but it still keeping popping up and playing in my head.

What do YOU do when this happens?

Listen to a favorite album and try to get a better song in my head. I've got the new silverchair stuck in my head, maybe you could try that. It's very catchy stuff.

Usually playing it works for me. I always have some soundtrack running around in there. Maybe try singing it, or get a happier song in your head.

listen to another sad song, and then another, and another. it happens you know. 'feeling senti' at times. let it be. and if you already have got plenty of sad songs playing in your mind, you will get used to them. one is going to be just another sad song. and before you knew it you'll no longer affected.

ive tried it, it was effective.
