At 27 I've beat (on my way to beat) breast cancer. Went through a lumpectomy, then a double mastectomy.

I'd say I'm pretty damn brave.

I consider my self not courageous, i guess i'm kind of coward.
But once a friend of mine told me what is the most courageous thing i've done - Moving to a citty to live alone with my child - who was seven at the time, looking for a better work oportunity and a better life for both of us.
So, that was it! And yes, it took a lot of courage to do it, and stay in here regardless of all the problems i have to face by my self. - specially here in México, where we are used to have a lot of help from our family.

courage manifests itself in many different ways. but in general it is facing any situation that normally creates fear, and then overcoming that fear. surviving a serious medical problem, saving a life under extraordinary circumstances, or even just living life and overcoming daily fears shows courage.

I saw a drug deal go "down" right in front of the house. I was in the side yard with my grandchild, and I was fuming. I confronted the guy, who lives down the street. I walked right up to him and said, "I know what you just did, and I don't care what you do with your life, but you are doing this in front of my house and if front of my grandchild! If you wanna do this s**t why don't you buy it if front of your own f***ing house!"
He just looked at me , then I said " what is your brain so fried that you can't speak you f***ing looser" He walked away and I walked in the house and called the task force telling them what vehicle it was and who the guy was and that it happens a lot. I was assured that they know of this situation and it would be taken care of.

I don't know about being brave but I ran in my 86 year old neighbor ladies burning house a few years ago and drug her out of the fire, she was pretty burned and it wasn't pleasant but I didn't even think about it while it was happening.
