I remember my first modem used to be FAX-MODEM(!) I was never able to use this function because I guess I have to inform my phone provider for this but hey is there a web site or a program that I can send a document to a real fax machine?

Do you have a FAX modem?
Open a file (I usually compose my FAXs in Word)
click File
Print
If you installed the component, FAX should show up in the list of printers.

If you haven't, go to Add/Remove in the Control Panel.
You want to add a component (not a program)
Look for the FAX

After you select the FAX, and before you use it, it has to be configured. Look for the icon on the desktop. Double-click it to open. Click Tools. Carefully review and set your preferences.

When I finished, I put an icon on the desktop for the inbox.
