1. Health care - some sort of universal coverage is needed for those who cannot afford insurance. Wellness benefits should be stressed.
2. Our standing in the world - We need to repair America's image by electing a leader who is both strong and understanding of other cultures and governments.
3. Education - No Child Left Behind has created school driven by test scores - not sound educational practices.
4. Voter apathy - Elections should be held in a way that people trust the results and that encourage more people to vote. What would be wrong with allowing the election process to take several days and maybe even include a weekend day so those who work long hours can vote at their convenience?
5. Immigration - We need to strengthen our border security and find a workable solution to granting legal status for immigrants entering the US.
6. Political divisiveness - To improve America we have to lessen the divide between Democrats and Republicans and start working together as Americans. People need to vote out politicians who fail to work for the people and instead go to Washington to further their own interests.
7. The deficit - We cannot continue to spend more money than we are taking in. There needs to be a line item veto in every federal budget submitted. Just like with our personal finances, if the revenue is not there - you shouldn't be able to spend it.
I am a Democrat.

I don't know anything about which party that I lean towards because I am a convicted felon that can't vote, but here's my list (in no particular order):
Hungar: We are the luckiest country in the world. We can buy huge SUV's everyday and use up all our gas, but we can't even feed all of our citizens.
Obesity: Crazy that some people are starving while others are dying from fatting foods and a sedentary lifestyle.
Illegal Immigrants: We can't even take care of ourselves, let alone anyone else.
Crime: Everyday there is more and more violence and crime and it just keeps getting worse.
Education: Much of our country does not even have a minimal education level.
Poverty: There is no middle class anymore. You are either in poverty or rich.
Disease: We have awesome medical technology, but we can't find a cure for anything! Doctors just want to drug you up with meds and help make the insurance and pharmacutical companies more money!
I'm sure there are a lot more than 7, but these were the first things I thought of.

simply by fact those each person is normally no longer veterans. actual homeless veterans are practically chased down and drug into Outreach facilities run via the VA. the actual concern your question demonstrates is the certainty that there are so few human beings in our society that understand something approximately militia service which you're no longer able to perceive the pretend veterans. besides - considering that veterans get extra sympathy than your run of the mill substance abuser - the homeless advocates will inflate the numbers of homeless veterans as a manner to look after extra investment. the subsequent time you notice somebody claiming to be a homeless veteran, I advise which you come across a _real_ veteran to talk to that individual for a jiffy. ninety% of the time the actual veteran will out the different guy as a fraud. .

WAR,pure AIR, WATER, and FOOD,Human Rights,Corporate Fascism, and Voters Rights issues! If I had the solutions to all of the above do you think I would be sitting here posting to this site? I'll take the Independence Party, but I would prefer there were no political parties in the US.

What is the purpose of government??
I suggest that this single issue underlies most of the positions of both major parties. Democrats tend to think that government is a means to acheiving desirable social ends while Republicans tend toward believing that government is to provide a defense of our liberties, properties, and (existing) society.
Of course, the Socialists believe that humanity owns all in common and that government is the expression of that humanity, so it must own everything. I think the Libertarians favor the notion that government's role is to assure the maximum in personal liberty for the individual.
I rather suspect that Universe, not having been designed by humans and therefore not being run by humans, will have the final say and that we may be surprised by what purpose government actually plays in the greater scheme of things. If, of course, humanity is still around to find out.

War - end it
Welfare - drug test for all welfare collectors... if they fail kick them off welfare
Immigration - border security.. deport all illegals... no questions asked
Obesity - impose the fat tax!! all fast food, junk food, etc. have a tax
Pollution - public awareness is the only solution... the govt can't regulate every Americans littering, car use, every individual needs to make a conscious effort to make less of an impact on the environment
