My husband and I are in the process of getting a divorce. We had one hearing and we have to go back. He will be out of town, so we have to get the paper work notarized so I can go to court without him.
He has been avoiding the subject and won't meet with me to get this done before he leaves. I even went to his apartment last night. I saw him drive through the lot with his girlfriend, and then they drove away.
I sent him a text message asking if he's playing a game. He didn't respond, turned his phone off and hasn't called me back. I don't understand why he is doing this. He says he is sick of me nagging him, but all I want is my freedom. And I would think he would want the same, for the sake of his girlfriend.
What can I do? Why is he being like this?

If you don't already have an attorney, call the court clerk or get some legal advice from a divorce attorney on how you can either get him to sign, get around the signature requirement, or find out his/her suggested next step. It's my understanding that if he doesn't respond to the summons or legal papers or doesn't show up they can enter a default judgement. (you might also put this Q in the 'laws and ethics' questions).

You can not change him. Just be patient. In time you will get what you want and you will be free. He is still manipulating you by his avoidance tactics. If you would not let it bother you so much, he probably would not play as many games. I think he is playing the games because it bothers you so much.
Do no let him have the pleasure!

Some people just never grow up and become responsible for their actions so they continue thru life as little kids. Sounds like you have a little kid on your hands so go thru with the divorce with or without him and then move on with your life and let someone else deal with the little kid. Good luck

Sounds like a real jerk. You are free. Just take a few weeks off from talking to him and see what happens. Talk to a lawyer as well. BUT he has moved on, theres no reason for you to still feel bound to him.

This may be a way of controlling you. Not that he wants you back. Sometimes, guys don't like change. He wants to see how far he can push it. Just start pushing back. Fight fire with fire.....
Good Luck

He still loves you, so every time you go with the motions of the divorce, it reminds him that it is really over.
