Go! Go! Go!

Wheels on the ground turning round and around,
On boards, on trikes and on red motor bikes,
Take us to places we’d never have found,

Better than sitting or taking a hike,
The sun, the rain and the wind tantalize,
Walking and riding are quite unalike,

Street signs and curves wind, they do hypnotize,
A map can not show where the road does not go,
The trip is unplanned, to a stop realized.

This should just about do it for iambic pentameter…note the rhyme scheme aba bcb cdc.

Can we go back to verse libre week?

Aye Scotty...

I have neglected your very polished posts. Not this time.

Of Terza Rima I had never known
What prose is this, that I may try to write?
Now thrice I have poetic prowess shown.

I've had, for days, your questions in my sight.
Yet as the answers on your screen unfurl,
My verse remains unnoticed; that's my plight.

Now into other things, myself I hurl.
I wonder why my work remains ignored.
Perhaps its simply that I'm not a girl.

Another vote for verse libre.

This is good work TD, but man I sat down last night to try to write in free verse and I keep slipping into iambic pentameter blank verse. This has gone on too long..

It has been a fun week (loved the ruba'i and the dorsimbra), but I want to get back to the chaos of free verse for a bit--just a bit I promise to visit the land of rhyme and meter occasionally.
