yes. the ones from LL.Bean are the best. go to this website for more info! They are a little more expensive, but they last a really long time. they are also pretty big! worked for me in 7th and 8th grade! try this site...this is the backpack i got! held up great!! (copy and paste into browser)

No.
Hallways are probably going to be crowded and rolling backpacks cause even more traffic. The durability all depends on the brand.
I would recommend a shoulder strap backpack with padding for comfort. You can find durable and comfortable backpacks from Jansport or LL Bean.com. Also try looking at your local athletics store they should have a wide variety of durable backpacks made for comfort. A backpack with the extra strap that snaps around the waist can also adjust the load and make it easier to transport if you're worried about that.

Another downfall of using a rolling backpack is that middle school children can be viscious and likely to kick the backpack while your child is pulling down the hallway on purpose or accidentally.

No, it will get in the way in the hallways. Keep in mind that your child will want to use it in the hallways. It's a good idea to get him or her a backpack since middleschoolers are getting more and more homework these days, but a durable L.L. Bean backpack would be nice. They have a lifetime warranty and come in a variety of colors and you can get you child's intials on the bag.

If your child wants to be popular, it's best not to get a rolling backpack. I had no choice when I got it in high school and I speet my entire sophomore year carrying it. It was so embarrassing I was glad when it broke down and bought myself a new one.

NOOOO! Rolling backpacks are nothing but problems for kids. They're dangerous in crowded hallways, get used as "weapons" against other kids, and for older kids, wouldn't be considered cool to have. Not to mention, most teachers I know hate them as do I. They're more trouble than they're worth.

I know that my son buffed up by carrying all of his books with him in middle school. He didn't have a rolling backpack.

ugh no. it may reduce strain on the kid's back, but it won't fit in the hallways and it's totally nerdy. just stick with a regular backpack. the lands end and llbean ones are good. lots of room.

You need to check your school's policy regarding using them. At our school they are not allowed to be used until you leave the building for safety reasons. Therefore, they wouldn't be of much benefit during the school day. Some schools prohibit them altogether. I hate to say it - but they are viewed as being "geeky" by most middle schoolers.

no because wwhen you are dismissed there is 2 feet of space between you and your backpack and it makes you slower and the person behind you is like "MOVE FASTER"
