some guys from lows r comming to instal a ceiling fan,,,ques is do i vacuume rug before or after...my wifes at work so im doing vac after they go....correct or not.

Installing a fan is not a "dirty" job if they do not need to install the electrical box and wiring. There may be some dust, so I would wait until the job is finished. They will probably pick up any mess they make.

I would have the Lowes guys clean up after themselves after they are through (this is part of the job) and then do your own cleaning after they leave.
