WOW! I'd like to hang out with some of you. It seems to me that alot of men are put of by a women that can spit out starting line ups and player stats. Sorry if I would rather watch a day game rather than days of our life!

Thanks for the great answers so far, maybe there is hope yet!

I think it is great if a woman has a high sports IQ, just like a woman thinks it is great if a man has a flair for cooking. I personally would not be intimated. In fact, I would be so excited b/c I wouldn't have to watch football by myself anymore.

It depends. Some women know alot about the game but never played any sports at all. They can become really annoying because they believe they know what a player should have done or what play a coach should have called. Knowledge is good and can produce more invites to watch the game with the guys, but don't get too arrogant with your opinions, especially if you weren't an athlete at one time.

I've had both reactions from guys. Some think it's cool that i know football and play in the WPFL. Then there are others who are completely emasculated by it.

I was watching a football game at the gym with a bunch of guys one night. A unique play happened and they didn't understand it. I explained it to them and they completely ignored me. THEN the announcer explained it exactly how I just had and they were like 'oh yeah....'. Lame

I personally love women that have a high sports IQ. There just doesn't seem to be that many women that I know that are that interested in sports, or well various sports anyway. Like they might play one, or have played one particular sport, but don't like other ones.

I think intimidated is the wrong word. Men seem to really enjoy when a women is interested in sports and can watch a game and get into as much as them. I think where the dislike for it may come in is when she show's him up in front of his friends and making him feel underminded in a sense.

Neither really. I don't mind that my wife isn't really into sports because it gives me sort of a refuge for "guy stuff", which I really like having. But at the same time, I'm not intimidated by a woman who's into sports either. I used to date a girl that was really into baseball, and that was just fine by me. To each his/her own.

I think it's great. My wife and two of her best friends are avid college basketball fans. You shoulda heard my wife (a big cuse fan) when Syracuse got snubbed last year. My Mom is also a hardcore basketball fan. We drug her to last years Tennessee vs. Texas game. If you're familier with the game, you know how wild it was! My 60something mom was hollering and screaming right along with the rest of us.

So yeh, I think it's great. Not intimidating at all. I enjoy it.

Love it when a woman knows a lot about sports. The first night I met my girlfriend she was in a heated argument about the Chiefs with some other guy. I almost got on one knee right there.

I would love it if my girlfriend took an interest in sports especially football. She hates it when I watch NFL games on Sundays or any time. She thinks I'm not spending enough time with her. If she was sport smart, we would have more in common and be able to have fun little competitions in trivia. I really think it would be awesome.
