Thats the only footage the MEDIA has. It doesnt mean its the only video the government had access to. There are cameras both public and private all over manhattan, assuming that american civilians are the only ones elctronically networked is beyond ignorant. He's the president, there are men and women who follow him around this country and world to keep him updated on all matter of national and world security. They have amazing ability to share all forms of data between the agencies. Theres no doubt in my mind that the US government didnt have some form of video on the event, since it was broadcast in my area (upstate ny) within 20 minutes. Within that amount of time I saw clips of a plane flying into the first tower. It was shitty and hard to make out until they got more video from home cameras. Who said that the clip of the plane hitting the tower in your provided video was the one the president saw? Its not the only one ive seen of the first plane, I know that. Even I thought it was a navigational or human error on the part of the pilot when I first heard about it. Our president, and our government are not THAT smart, or THAT put together to actually stage something like this, and plan for it to result in something like Iraq and an entire world on the edge of its seat. What on earth does america benefit from something like that? Our allies hate us, more and more enemy countries are arming themselves with intent to attack us.... The whole thought is just absurd. Go eat a popsickle and watch a cartoon. Your head must hurt.

What are you talking about? What's your source for this information? I'm certainly not debating the fact that President Bush has been less than truthful with the American public (indeed the world) over many things. But do you actually believe the first time he saw any video of it was the same time the rest of the American public did? Besides, I can remember the footage of the planes crashing into the buildings playing OVER and OVER the same day.

He made no such claim. I have no idea where you think you heard this, but you are either mistaken, or you are lying on purpose.

We have video of the President reading to schoolchildren, when his advisor comes up and whispers in his ear. He continues to read, because at that point, they don't know that the crash wasn't an accident. After the second crash, the advisor whispers again, and the President excuses himself to attend to the matter. The President is sincerely shaken and surprised-- you can see it in his expression.

Video coverage of the events were LIVE. I saw repeats of the first crash repeatedly during the morning, and I saw the second crash LIVE on TV. The claim that video wasn't available until days later is garbage.

I didn't know he said that and the fact that the video wasn't released to the public is meaningless. I heard it on the news at about 7:30 am Mountain time. Also, remember he was given the news while he was reading to some school children? He was somewhere in the South and he continued reading for 14 minutes as I recall. He then disappeared on Air Force One for several hours.

Whaa? I don't believe there was ever a mention of the President claiming that he saw a video of the first tower being hit. In fact, the first information he received of the towers being attacked was a verbal report provided to him by an advisor while he was reading to a Florida class.

Do you have a quote saying "First" ?

Do you know if the government had access to video BEFORE it was released to the public?

The facts aren't even close to supporting your idea that there is a "lie" here.

So, if Pres. Bush had jumped up and ran out of the room to the nearest phone and ordered fighters in the air, would the 2nd plane and pentagon planes still have struck? Probably. 9/11 was a sucker punch by terrorists.

Assuming that you are not making this up, or just parroting what some other idiot blogger wrote, don't you think the president MIGHT be privy to information before it is released to the public?

Right, whey did you hear this. I can tell you that he has never said that he saw a video before going to the class room.
