It depends on how frequently they lie. if they lie frequently, it might be hard to find the truth.
first of all, youre gonna have to recognize someone how they look while they're telling the truth.
Then, when they tell a lie, their behavior will change.
there might be things you wouldnt notice if you werent looking. like an eye twitching, or them looking away.
(Also, When i look at my brother in the eye, he twitches the pupil when he lies)

Of course there's the obvious sign of lying, which is looking upward and to the left (your right) while saying something. I have caught this on occasion and subsequently caught the lie.
Of course, it could be that the person is just accessing the creative center of their brain while they're telling the truth. :) (It is possible.)
Often, people who lie mask themselves with anger if you challenge them.
When facial expressions betray words, it might indicate something.
Body language is a big thing... But you can't always know if a person just lacks confidence or is very hurt.......

It is easy to recognize a lie, just consider what the other person is saying, if it is not true, it is a lie.

For me, when someone is lieing, you always know b/c they are bound to say something out of the ordinary or something that will strike you as "not right". Just pay EXTRA attention if you feel someone is lieing to you, and you will know, and if its someone really close to you, you should be able to tell from first word!!!!

most of the time when someone is lying there voice changes and it goes up or down depending on if it is a boy or girl. also when they lie and u are with them they will not look u in the face but they will point the head either down or get interested in something really quick and point the converstaion else where.

Instead of yes or no questions... have the person you think is lying elaborate more on whatever the subject is... and, you'll be able to tell.
Some liars can look you dead in the eye... just watch their body language and attitude.

Everyone is different when it comes to tell-tell signs of lieing, just look the person and the eyes and pay attention to every aspic of you them as they speak, if you know the person well, just look at what they do differently from then when you know they telling the truth.

it takes experience, but statistics is the best way. if what you're hearing doesn't make sense with reality, or if it is highly improbably, it is often a lie. you can tell more by WHAT the person is saying than by looking at them, when you are not experienced.

I think they will stutter, may become defensive a bit, and they won't look you in the eyes. They may get a bit 'fidgety', not really sit/stand still, alot of 'uh, well, I don't knows, etc'
