I live in South Ga mechanic is occupation. Is anyone else in this field if so what area and income level do you have?

If you just got in the field, this is about average. If you have been in the field for a long time, than I would say that you should ask for more.

Remember, minimum wage is going up $7.00 if that helps you see where you're at.

That's pretty low. My son is a diesel engine mechanic, with about 4 years experience and he makes around $24.00 an hour in the Phoenix area.

If you are fairly new to this line of work, this would seem like a good wage. If you have worked in mechanics for 20 years, it would be low.

is that flat rate or hourly, i live in a fairly small town in oregon and the dealerships hear pay over $20 per flat rate hour, ase master techs can make 22-25, a good rule for flat rate is the tech you get about 25% of the door rate

14 is pretty good, if you are single.
do you have insurance and all that stuff
any debts?
