There is a high altitude low pressure system west of San Antonio that has basically been "parked" over you for quite a while now.

Yeah, I'm in Houston too and I don't know why it's rained almost everyday for the last month. It is truly amazing.

It's the North American monsoon season. Things are lining up just right to dump a lot of moisture on your area.
