I totally agree. The only people who don' t like Sherriff Joe are the criminals who have spent time in his jail. That is there own fault. You do the crime you do the time. Sherriff Joe is awesome!!

I would vote against him in a heartbeat.

His disregard for the 4th Amendment makes Bush's feelings on it look rational.

The man has done some great things in the prison, and I love that he was willing to challenge the President on the deployment of the national guard, but has way overstepped his boundaries in other areas.

He support roadblocks and full vehicle searches for certain areas with no evidence. It took months of explantion of our laws before he finally stopped pushing for that.

___________

"he only people who don' t like Sherriff Joe are the criminals who have spent time in his jail"

This is just stupid to say. I despise the man for his actions and have not even been in his state in 10 years, and then only backpacking in the country, never saw a city much less a jail.

I dont like him because he has no respect for privacy laws and the limits of gov't. Again, he promoted illegal searches until it was finally explained that illegal searches are ILLEGAL for the gov't.

________

Has anyone else noticed that his supporters only ever say they support him and dont say why other than 'he's tough on crime', or they cite the pink and tents and seem to know nothing else about him?

Not sure we could handle anyone else who thinks they are head honcho.

Although I did view a program I believe on Court TV where he took you on a tour of "his facility" and it all sounds good, looks good, but if he were all that, and the people thought he was just the best there could be - he would be President.

I however, don't think it would work - he is good at telling others what to do, but I am not sure the hearing aid is turned on to other talking... if you get what I mean.

No.
He is good at being the big sheriff here but is a corrupt guy paying his buddies insane salaries for bogus positions....and I'm no just saying this because I was an ex-convict in his "Tent City" facility either.

Well of course criminals and anarchists don't like him. What else is new? He's got my vote for President. I'd love to see him apply his tent-city-and-pink-jumpsuits mentality to Islamic terrorism.

No - while he may be slightly better than Gonzo - he's still a thinly disguised neonazi who has taken his job too far. He has no concept of the rule of law and innocent until proven guilty.
