Is your question based on the automatic assumption everything that happens is the fault of the Bush Administration?
While Tilman's cause of death was misreported, I've heard nothing the Bush Administration was directly responsible. Have you got a memo from Rove to lie about it?
The first thought is the the area commander probably was trying to cover his backside. Bad press on Tilman getting killed in the manner he did and all that. The Army brass may have drug their feet investigating and reporting.
But to say Bush was intentionally doing a coverup over Tilman's death would be a stretch. Ask yourself this question. Pat Tilman got killed in a war zone accident. Why intentionally distort what happened? You don't want to make a Cardinal fan mad? What would be the worst that could happen to the President by correctly reporting Tilman's death?

Why don't you just blame Bush for Jimmy Hoffa and the Vietnam War while you are at it? How in your warped brain do you tie the "Bush administration"in with a "cover up" for the death, not "murder" of Pat Tillman. Tillman's death was a tragic accident, a by product of war. Friendly fire is a factor in every war that has ever been fought. The military attempted to cover up the facts behind the incident, but that had nothing to do with the current administration. Where do you people come up with this stuff? Hey, I know this bridge in Brooklyn that is for sale...

Well, Bush didn't get to the scene of the incident until almost a week later. By that time the bodies had been moved, the brass scavenged by locals and everybody out on other missions.
Bush reacted to what he was told by the military. The Army covered it up. Heads are going to role including that of a 3-star.
Wait until some minor piss-ant underling who you don't even know (like you are now) screws up and everyone is "Is it true your company purposely...?"
And you say "No, that is completely false. We take every precaution...blah, blah, blah".
then it turns out the engineer purposely did dump that barrel of very toxic, very well labeled waste into the ditch behind your plant and killed a protected and endangered species of trout.
Why did you lie?

To make a long story short because they can it was soooo wrong, my daughter was in the Army at the time, and I often wondered if any thing were to happen to her would I know the truth, you have to question the different levels of the government, someone is always looking for a way to make themselves to look better, or to get something out of a situation.

A hero dying for "the cause" is good press and in politics today press is what it is all about. THe normal every day grunt dying is just another number, but Tilman grabbed headlines. To say that he died by friendly fire is akin to political suicide.

although I mega-loathe the Shrub and his administration, the pointedness in your question makes it inaccurate. the army covered it up...the bush administration really never had anything to do with it...at all. a few soldiers and officers really messed up and the army tried to cover it up, and now they're being punished; but the Bush administration didn't pull any strings in this ordeal.

Nothing dealing with liberalism or conservatism can answer you this question.
Dealing with POLITICS though, and you'll find BOTH parties aren't very honest about cover-ups and truth when people go missing or end up dead.
