Does that make you more likely to do it? Or make you more likely to take a nap?

I would laugh myself sick if they thought some stupid, childish phrase like "double dog dare" would compel me to do anything.
Everybody knows that only a "triple dog dare" is the true way to force someone to do something that involves possible loss of life, traumatic amputation of appendages or other serious consequences...
Now if someone were to throw down the "triple dog dare" gauntlet, that is another matter entirely.. That is do it or hang you head in shame time. Of course if it involved committing a federal felony I would have to think long and hard about it.

I usually do it. :P but if it's something dangerous, I'd rather not get hurt and be safe than end up in the hospital and be considered 'cool.'

One of the girls in my circle of friends dared all of us to do this one thing at the mall. We went to the Disney store and we all picked a Pooh bear toy and we were to go up to the cashier and ask how much it was (the price tag was right on it), one after another, with about 2 minutes of timing in between. We got to about 5 people and it was my turn, and I was still really nervous but she answered the question anyway.

Eventually the cashier got so annoyed she kicked us out of the store.

the last time i was double dog dared was probably around 3rd grade when my friend dared me to go up to this boy and kiss his cheek...which i did.
anyways, i have developed a pretty rebellious additude since then and when people tell me to do something, that just makes me want to do the opposite for the fun of it. so if someone double dog dared me now, i would just keep on answering p&s.

You'd better believe it. And I'm famous for countering with triple-dog-dares as a means of weeding out the real deal from the wanna-be faction.

Yes, some time ago. They dared me to run in to a convenience store next to the microwave and act like it messed up my pace maker. I flipped and flopped for a while, till I noticed people were stepping over me, then left, collected my $50.00 for taking the dare, and went about my way. :)

Honestly, in February 2006, my big brother did.
I was mulling over my then boyfriend's marriage proposal. He actually did "Double Dog Dare" me to go ahead and get married.

Haven't even thought of that phrase for years...don't remember anyone ever saying it to me,,so if they did, I must not have taken them up on it.

A nap really sounds good right now..

With a double full twisting layout in the pike position. Yes.
I mean, when you get challenged that way, you just have to go for it. It's a guy thing. :)
