I have leafgreen. To get a magby in leafgreen you must do this,

Catch a Magmar.

Then, catch a Ditto.

Then, go to Four Island.

Talk to the day-care lady and store the Magmar and the Ditto you just caght.

After that, walk around a bit outside Four Island.

After 2-5 minutes go back to Four Island and you will see the man on the gate closer than usual.

Talk to him.

Then collect the egg he gives you.

Finally, hike around and eventually the egg will hatch into a Magby.
