Someone asked can a baseball player can a player be removed from the hall of fame, and was fed bad info..

It is a fact, that Pete Rose was removed from the MLB Hall Of Fame At least 10yrs after induction for gambling.Pete's Gambling habits though wrong should not eclipse his time that he played as a player.Shouldn't he be reinstated into the hall of fame. What do you Think, Yes Players can and have been removed from the hall of fame.

Pete Rose was never in the Hall of Fame to begin with. He was banned from baseball and as a result was prohibited from entering the Hall. if a player is already in the hall, I don't think subsequent evidence should be cause for removal. It's understood in baseball that being involved in betting on baseball is a conflict with consequences. Pete Rose knew this up front but he went ahead and did what he did anyway. He had a Hall of Fame career but I don't feel sorry for him because he decided to do what he wanted.

If you're going to say other people are feeding someone bad information, at least take the time to get your facts straight. Pete Rose was never inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was banned from baseball in 1989. He was active as a player through 1986. A player is not eligible for election to the Hall of Fame until 5 years after his retirement as a player. Therefore, it would have been impossible for Pete Rose to have been in the Hall of Fame for ten years when he was "removed". He was not even eligible to be voted on as a player until 2 years after he was banished from the game.
I have no idea where you are getting your "facts" from, but whatever your source, whether it be a website, or a friend, or simply out of your head, they are incredibly misinformed.

Pete Rose was not removed from the Hall of Fame. He was never elected to the HOF. He was banned from ever being elected.

But, Pete is still part of baseball history and is actually in the hall though not personally inducted. His hitting records and Cincinnati's team records that include him are part of the HOF.

i have plenty of fav players that probably won't make the hall. Just because you don't make the Hall doesn't mean you're not worthy or shouldn't be respected. I hear people say that and it bugs me, so what if you didn't make the hall you can still have a heck of a career! I love Brian Roberts, I'm not officially an Os fan or anything (i do like watching them ^^) but he's a great leadoff hitter, always been consistent and an awesome second baseman!! He seems respectful and giving :)

No, Pete Rose was an amazing player, but he gambled. If anyone who should be kicked out, they are people who took steroids, or corked bats should be cut out because they cheated to beat records and didn't do it the good ol' fashion way. Another thing Ty Cobb, a Hall of Famer, is in the hall, but reportedly he jumped out of the field during one game and beat up a cripple person.

P.S. Pete was never in the Hall he was kicked out of baseball resulting in his inability to be in it.

NO!!!!!!!!!! I Don't Think Players should get in trouble by the league for off- field stuff. If you are already in the hall of fame you should not be taken out. Under no circumstances should a player be taken out.

Dude, he NEVER got inducted. Thats the big thing with Rose. Is that he has the most hits in history and never got in. Get the facts right before you make a statement. However, he should be in the Hall because of the hits record.

Pete Rose was never inducted, nor have I ever heard of any provision for having anyone removed. I suppose it makes a small amount of sense for someone to be removed if events that took place during their career surface later but events following a career should not impact HOF status.

1st Pete was never in the all of fame. And if you could remove people there would be a empty all. You would have to remove Babe Ruth he was a drunk and Cobb was an ***. So if you want an empty hall sure.

Personally , for Gambliing I dont think so. Gambling is a character issue, not a physical issue. Gambling isnt doing anything to affect your onfield performance, therefore Pete Rose SHOULD be in the hall in my opnion.

Just because he gambled didnt make him any less of a ball player.
