It's called technique. Remember the old saying "the bigger they are,the harder they fall". Maybe this big guy needed to be taught a lesson. That's if he was bullying the smaller guy or just shooting his mouth off.But on the other hand I've seen small guys with big mouths who always seem to think they have something to prove and deserve to get their butt kicked just as well. He was congratulated because he was the underdog. I'm quite familiar with the South side of Chicago so I have a feeling I know what went on here. It sounds like a case of "territorial and ego clash".

The fact that the smaller guy was from Chicago is besides the point here. The meaning behind that statement is that the small guy had come from a tougher area (the Southside of Chicago is considered a rough place to live) and he knows how to take care of himself - he knows how to fight. The bigger guy came from a safe area and has probably never thrown a punch in his life.
In fights it doesn't matter how big or strong you are, UFC and other such programs show that.
As the one above stated, though, its not the size of the person in the fight, its the size of the fight in the person.

It's easy, you take more punches as a little guy in the 'hood that you do as a pampered pretty boy in a suburb. You have a higher tolerance for pain, you learn to hit hard at any weak spot and you learn that there's not a whole lot of margin for error. If you pick a fight and loose on the streets, you might end up dead. It's a good motivation to stay out of trouble and to learn to defend yourself well.

Heart and skill. most fights now days seem stupid and all look the same (two ppl doing the windmill at each others face until some one lands a lucky punch). most ppl think that just because someone is big that they'd be strong but honestly that's just not case. what makes you strong is to be able to bear tho pain and be able to focus on what it is your trying to do.

If you saw the fight you should be better able to tell us how the little guy won over the big one.
