The fittest person for Indian politics is the one who has the following qualities in him :
1. Should be ready to be a chamcha of the highest order.
2. Should be an an anti social element and preferably a murderer.
3. Must have cheated the banks or financial institutions.
4. Must have a gang of at least hundred goondas at his beck and call so that in case the high command requires a crowd for slogan shouting at his or her doorsteps , he remains the first to assemble them.
5. Must have skin as thick as a hippopotamus so that he isnot put to shame under any situation.

Education : doesn't matter but should have his/her thumb
Special attribute : Need to know how best to lick the supremo's boot.

Those who got will to serve public is suitable for politics. There are many leaders in the history who served the nation without education. Tamilnadu is examplary of this. The more he educated without will to serve, the more scandals will tumble out of cup board. The present scandals are proof of this.

any person of good character. this covers all the points like qualification(generally literate person is able to know what is good and what is bad, about the ill effect of having more than one wife, about the necessity of population control, character moulding come of age). but as suggested by you, there should be an upper age limit like 60.
