Whats a good program to over clock a graphics card?

Im thinkin of gettin, and over clocking a 256MB Palit AT-FX GeForce 8600GT PCI-E

And if i did overclock it, how much would u reccomend me to overclock it too, to be on the safe side.
And would i need a better cooler or anything new to keep the OC'd GPU in good form and safe?

My Palit GeForce 8600GT Sonic came w/ VDO Tool. But you will be surprised, they used ATI Tool here:

Overclocking tends to break components, and it violates warranty. It rarely gets noticeable gains. The 8600 GT is already a powerful card, what more do you expect to get out of it?

of course you need a better cooler if you want to overclock very much. riva tuner and clock gen is good for overclocking, and you need speedFan to monitor its temperature, to make sure it doesn't overheat.
