I expected a lot to be left out of the movie, so I wan't too disappointed. However, I think that leaving out practically all of the explanation and details about the Prophecy was a mistake. The Prophecy is the reason (as far as I'm concerned) for a lot of the Harry Potter story. It's why his parents are dead and why he has his famous scar. Just my opinion. All in all, though, I did enjoy the movie.

I think Harry Potter should have been a television series, filmed for three years and airing 3 years after each season is filmed (to allow plenty of time for special effects work). I think Ron's development is important to the story, and things like Ron & Hermione becoming Prefects (when Harry didn't) and Weasley Is Our King are important to the story.

SPOILER for Deathly Hallows: Considering what we know about the end of everything, S.P.E.W is important to understanding why Kreacher reforms and Griphook aids the trio, and yet S.P.E.W. was never mentioned in the movies. Seems a shame.

I really missed seeing more of the house elves. Dobby's been 'voted off the island' with Jar-Jar Binks; we didn't even get to see Winky as a part of Goblet of Fire; and we missed that Kreacher betrays Harry. If they ran the books as a television show, the Christmas shows would be huge and the story could really branch out, to show more of characters we love, like Luna and Neville.

Heck yes! Not only the side stories, I was expecting so much more for the final fight sequence. Neville showing real back bone in his fighting even with a bloody nose. They left out showing Neville's parents. And a very important element, the Mirror that Sirius gave to Harry plays a key role in DH. Also the coins that DA had, calling them all back for the final battle in DH. Just my thoughts.

A lot was cut which was pretty disappointing....and it ran for 2 hours,a little short for a harry potter movie.it was pretty fast-paced.i did not have a problem understanding the storyline but people who did not read the book were a confused.many people i knew found it boring, but i digress.it's the best movie so far and i could watch it again...the scene in the room full of orbs falling down was so cool! and the acting have improved.

ALL MOVIES CUT TOO MUCH OF THE SIDE STORIES...

It's just the way it goes - there's just too much to most books to make people sit and watch a movie that's over 6 hours long....
