This question is for people who have seen BOTH the old one (w/Ricki Lake), and the one that's out now.
I usually HATE movie and song remakes. I LOVE the old Hairspray with Ricki Lake, and I'm leary about going to see the new one because I think I'll be disappointed.
How would you compare the two?
Note: If you have only seen the new one and not the old one, then your answer won't help me because you won't be able to make a comparison between the two movies.

Both are really good, but the old one was better. The new one was a little annoying with the music, the music it alot differnet(some of it is), and the songs aren't the best in the new one...But I liked both although the first one was the best.

I've only seen the Ricki Lake version, and I thought it was pretty good.
