Today I put in STP Fuel Injector & Carburetor Treatment. I used this product with the advice of my father. I showed him the bottle and he said that was the wrong one. I was suppose to use STP Super Concentrated Gas Treatment. This product will remove assising deposit and the one I put in my tank will not. He told me to wait until the next time I fill up my car. Is this the correct way to use the product? Or should I put the right one in now? Or better yet, are these product useful

Either treatment is ok, but the actual benefits you will see are minimal at best. Most garages and quick oil change places can perform a full fuel system cleaning for between $50 - $90 depending on your area. It is more expensive, but you WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE I PROMISE YOU!!! High octane gas has no more detergent than regular gas. Actually running high octane fuel in a vehicle that requires 89 octane gas IS BAD!!! It can cause the very problem you are trying to correct. High octane fuels burn hotter, but slower to achieve a "complete burn". In a vehicle that calls for 89 octane (about 95% of all cars on the road require 89 octane) this can cause carbon deposits in the motor robbing you of performance, fuel mileag, and engine life! Read your manual, and use what the engineers that designed it tell you to. Get that fuel system cleaning done, it really is worth the extra money. You will be glad that you did!

Don't worry about it. The gas today already has cleaners in it. In fact, there is more and more alcohol in the fuel that we buy now. If you Dad says to use it, then use it. He's the one paying the bill. The extra cleaners in the STP products may help, but I doubt if you notice any difference in the performance of the engine.

So it is no big deal, put it in whenever you think about it.

Well....These products do ahve some redeeming values. But I wouldn't worry about using the wrong one. Put the correct one in your tank next time.

they are usefull for keeping injectors clean but won't fix worn parts.

there is no right or wrong product, some simply work better than others. I like Techron, made by Chevron/Standard Oil

if you buy cheap gas, yes they are useful. If you burn premium, they are a waste of money as those products are already in the premium gas.
