They are blood traitors beacuse they mixed with mudbloods, such as Hermione. And also Harry, whos mother was a muggle.
They are blood traitors beacuse they mix with witches and wizards who are not pure blood and have connections to normal humans.

It actuallywas explained several times. It is because they were pure-bloods and Mr. Weasley had a love of Muggles and worked for the Ministry of Magic in the Misuse of Muggle Artifact Division and they were in the Order of the Phoenix fighting against Voldermort and his Death Eaters to protect Muggles and the like, therefore they were fighting with half-bloods and muggle trained witches and Wizards that would have been called Mud-bloods by Voldemort and his crew.

Let me know if I can be of any more help to you. I know the books like the back of my hand. About the only thing I can't do off the top of my head is spit out page numbers, but I can certainly look things up and give those to you too ... if that is what you require.

There are many ways in which the Weasley's qualify as blood traitors, according to the standards of Death Eaters like Lucius Malfoy:

1. Mr and Mrs. Weasley are pureblood wizards who consort with half-blood AND Muggle-born wizards and witches. And they accept Lupin, who as a werewolf is also supposed to be treated as inferior.
2. Mr. Weasley is very interested in Muggles, and is head of the Muggles artifacts dept. in the first 5 books. He finds Muggles charming and asks about them all the time.
3. Some pureblood wizards regard anyone who didn't side with V. as a traitor, because they see Voldy as a defender of wizardry who will prevent the magical arts from being contaminated by lesser practitioners.
4. Not only do the Weasley's accept non-pure blood wizards/witches, but they actively defend them and entertain them in their home.

They're blood traitors as Mr Weasley loves muggles which most pure bloods hate. They also get on with muggle borns (or Mudbloods) and their very poor so thats why their blood traitors cause they unlike people like the Malfoys don't boast about their blood status.

I hope thats cleared that up for u!

A blood traitor would be someone who associates with Muggles. Not only do the Weasleys associate with "Mudbloods" like Hermione, Arthur Weasley loves anything to do with Muggles.

"Blood Traitors" is first used in OotP.

It refers to wizards or witches of Pure Blood descent who champion the rights of non Pure Bloods to learn and do magic and the right of Muggles to not being bullied or dominated by witches/wizards.

To Pure Bloods like the Blacks or Malfoys, such people are traitors to their own bloodlines.

The Weasleys, by reason of Arthur's work and interests and later by the fact that Bill Ron and Ginny all marry non-Pure Bloods, would be obvious targets of such bigots.

In many of the same aspects of humans and their race. Some of us are racist where some of us don't care where you came from. Same as the Weasleys , even though they had no family that could not perform magic.Hermione's parents could not perform magic at all where as she could. This made her a mudblood. Weasleys were pureblood. This means they didnt care (for example) where her family was from. With this respect they were traitors of associating with mudbloods. Harry mother was also a mudblood considering her sister(Harry's Aunt Petunia) could not perform magic. Same ignorance that we face in the real world.

Only the Death Eaters and Voldemort (and those loyal to Slytherin House) tag them as blood traitors. Meaning, they are Pure Bloods but make friends with Half-Bloods, Muggles, Muggle-borns, Half-Breeds and creatures like elves and Goblins. Decency and respect for others are qualities not shared by Slytherins.

Blood-traitors means they are pure-blood wizards (the one that voldermort likes) but they are traitors (to voldermort):

Voldermort believed that pure-blood wizards (no muggles in the family tree) are Superior to the rest. So he thought all the pure-bloods should be on his side. The Weasley's were against him making them (pure) blood-traitors.
