I think it is.
If you are exposed to too much text messaging, you tend to just practically write words in shortcut.

I also think it is addictive because most find it amusing with all the smiley faces and cute quotes with, for example, a bear formed from symbols and letters.

But I am not one of those who are addicted to text messaging. I am actually pretty lazy when it comes to text messaging.

Yes. Absolutely. I swore I would never use text messaging when I first got a cell phone, but then, over time, I gradually started using it begrudgingly... Then I started using it more often... then even more often...

Now, it's like this unique form of communication that you can utilize when you don't want to be overly intrusive of you aren't sure it's alright to call... Of if you're not in the mood to talk.

There are so many reasons... Hopefully it's no more addictive than Yahoo Answers though. :)

It's addicting to many people but not to me. People who are addicted should seek help. Those who do it while driving should have their licenses revoked for life.

If you're really bored, yes. Not for me though. I only text to make plans and see how someone's doing. If I want to talk to them, I'll call them.

I think it's attributable to the omnipresence of stupidity. Talking to people on a damned finger tablet. Sheesh

I dont think it's addictive, but, I do think that once you learn it's much easier/convenient than calling. So it becomes the norm.
