When I found out I was pregnant, I was SOOO excited to tell my parents and my in-laws. They will ALL be first time grandparents... So, I went to the dollar store, got two really cute baby picture frames and printed out this poem and put it in the frame, wrapped it up and gave it to them. They LOVED it!
To My Grandparents:
I do not have a face to see,
to put inside this frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss;
I don't yet have a name.
You can't hold my tiny hands,
nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
or cuddle me so near.
But all will change coming soon,
when they say I'm due.
I'm your new grandson or granddaughter;
I can't wait till I meet you.
All I ask between now and then
is your patience while I grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait,
because of all the love we'll know.
So as you're waiting patiently,
please pray lots of prayers for me.
I cannot wait to be a part
of this wonderful family!

Well with my dad I told him I had a christmas present for him that he had to wait for about 8 more months to get...
Then with my husbands family I didnt' have to tell them, they asked me as soon as we got there because they said I had a glow about me and was wondering if I had a rabbit already cooking in the oven...It was my first actual time meeting them too and we were at their house for a week and that's when my morning sickness started talk about embarrassing...lol..

My husband and I went to see my mom and the first thing I said to her was, "Hi Grandma!" My sister is also pregnant, so at first my mom was totally confused, then surprised, then super excited. It was fun to watch the different facial expressions until she finally understood.

If you can hold out on telling them until you get your first ultrasound use one of the pictures from the ultrasound. Put it in a grandparent frame (they sell them at Kohl's) and wrap it up. The first ultrasound wont show much, but it is the point behind it.

A friend of mine did this for her hubby but it can be used for anyone you want to tell. She got a frame and put this poem in it:
Save this frame and you will see
It's made to hold a picture of me.
Brunette or redhead, brown eyes or blue
Will all be decided by the time I meet you.
So be very patient and I will appear
Around October of this next year!
I thought it was a really cute idea. Congrats and good luck.

I liked the way my niece and nephew told his mother. They found out at Christmas, and one of her presents was a card. When she opened it, it was a picture of a baby and the words "Hello, Grandma!" Needless to say, she was thrilled!
