Either start studying harder or change majors to something that you are more interested in.

If you really want to major in that subject, you'll need to arrange for some tutoring so you can catch up to your classmates. Getting caught up is going to take a lot of time and effort on your part. If you aren't devoted to this major, then it may not be worth it.

If you suspect that computer science may not be for you, then seriously consider changing your major. You can either do something unrelated, or, if you love computers but think CS isn't your thing, you could see if your university offers Management Information Systems (MIS) as part of their business program. If so, you may enjoy that subject. It's heavily about computers, but it approaches them more from a business perspective than from a computer science perspective. That may give you the best of both worlds.

So, you'll have to do some thinking about what you really want. Then make the changes that are necessary.

Happily, because you're only in your second year, you won't loose a lot of time, even if you switch to a new major.

Good luck.

I think you should hire a tutor if you are interested in the major but if your not try to switch to another major where you can still use some of your credits from this one there is no use in continuing on with something that doesn't intrest you or something that you are going the fluck out of. College is expensive and reallly leaves no time for wasting time.

I think that the best thing for you to do is speak to your teachers or tutor & explain that your struggling with the course & you're not sure whether to change course or not- they might be able to suggest something. I went to University last year but i absolutely hated where i was- i knew i wasn't happy but i still spoke to my tutor for guidance. I left in the end but i'm going to another University this year because i still wanted to go! you need to think about what will benefit you the most in the long term!

There's aptitude--whether you can do the work--and there's attitude--do you enjoy doing it? If you lack either, you're likely to fail at something (or at best, be totally miserable doing it and wind up failing at life in general).

The people who are best qualified to find out what careers fit your aptitudes and attitudes are at your college's student services department; they're called career counselors. Go make an appointment to start working with one of them ASAP and you'll get a much better answer than anyone here can give you.
