Afghan police found the bullet-riddled body of one of 23 South Koreans held hostage by Taliban kidnappers.
South Korea's Foreign Ministry identified the victim as 42-year-old Bae Hyung-kyu, a founder of Saemmul Presbyterian Church who traveled abroad on volunteer missions twice a year.

Because the Taliban now think taking and killing hostages will get their men released. The new leader of the Taliban was himself a prisoner, and was released (along with several other taliban) in exchange for an Italian journalist.

Presumably the Taliban think Christians are a good target because they're not Muslim, and because as missionaries they're a reasonably soft target as well.

Simple. First and foremost, they are foreigners, which the Taliban have vowed to rid of. Also, they will kill anyone who does not adhere to their strict fundamentalist interpretation of the Q'uran. (Note to Brian: The Taliban have killed other Muslims as well.)

Why are Christians not respecting the right of others to have different religions ? How stupid is it to go to a place like Afghanistan as a Christian missionary ?

They need to harm innocents in order to preserve their delusion that they are superior, US soldiers don't cooperate like defenseless South Korean volunteers.

Well, the "Army of Christ" led by Bush is killing muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq, so it makes sense that the Taliban would target Christians.
