I have a friend thats a plus sized girl(size24), and she dresses really blah because she doesn't want to draw attention to her weight. Any tips on things that she could wear to enhance her look?? She is a very pretty girl, I just don't know what to tell her to wear.

There are plenty of cute outfits out there now. Here are a few tips to dress your friend: She shouldn't wear horizontal stripes, that draws attention. Don't wear anything too tight, but don't wear anything 2 sizes to big. Don't wear dresses with a lot of fabric, it tends to give the tent effect. Go online and look at a few lane bryant catalogs, and other plus size stores for ideas. It is nice of you to have concern for your friend. Maybe you can help her to get in shape by working out together?

Go shopping with her at stores that are only for plus size women. A couple around here is Avenue and Lane Bryant. They have really cute clothes for bigger women. She needs to try everything on to see what looks good on her. You can help her by helping her do this. If she has a poor self image she may have a really hard time deciding what looks good and what doesn't.

It depends on what her body shape is, how tall she is, etc.. Tell her to stay away from big patterns and horizontal stripes- they make anyone who isnt stick thin look bigger. And tell her to wear clothes that "fit", meaning no oversized clothes that will make her look like a sack of potatoes. Form fitting, well tailored clothes make everyone look better, no matter what her size. Try the Avenue, Lane Bryant and Old Navy for cute and stylish plus sized clothes. Good Luck!

I thnk it would depend on her body shape, but i'm sure there is a good look for her. If she is proportionate and curvy, then something that shows off the curves without bringing too much attention to her weight would be good. Figure out her best feature and help her bring attention to it. I've always thougt bigger women are more attractive than skinny girls anyway.

There are stores out there to compliment the plus sized girl, and being one for a while a long time ago, I always tried to still look nice. NO BLACK!!!!Tell her to use color to compliment her pretty face. Always have her do her hair nice, and wear nice jewelry. Lane Bryant has all the trendy styles for the plus sized girls, and she will look beautiful

First of all she may not be open to your suggestions on what she should be wearing.
I mean would you mind if someone better dressed and feeling good about themselves addressed your issues and how to improve on them?
She probably has emotional issues inside that needs to be address by her. She needs to recognize that on her own and seek help for that. Then you will see changes on the outside of her appearance.
Unfortunately designers do not make attractive clothing to fit large men and women. She gets depressed when she shops and can't find cute clothes to wear in her size.
You could mention that you have somethings to work on and need her imput on them. Allow her to feel like she is helping you and in turn maybe she will get motivated.
When that happens if at all then you can suggest going to a mall for the free facial makeovers, ask for sample products at the counters, check out new scents that may trigger an good emotion for her and you, slip into a bookstore for a cup of coffee opens doors to books that offer life changing suggestions, do lunch at a place with healthy foods no hamburger joints or pasta restaurants.
She has to become motivated to want to change her appearance from the inside out. Is their someone special she is looking to impress on ? Ask her questions and seek out what you can offer to help her acheive that.

Plus sized people are best served wearing looser fitting clothing. Anything that is tight or form fitting just exagerates the larger areas. Also bright colors and stripes are out. Plus size women are usually busty and accenting thisfeature leads people away from the overall look. She should look for colors that accent her eyes and facial features and avoid being too flashy.

Heavy people tend to wear clothes that are TOO big, make sure she isn't doing that.
Also, dark colors will make her look a bit smaller.
She doesn't want to wear clothes that are tight either, cause that will just show her rolls.
Tell her that she is pretty, confidence makes a woman pretty.

She should wear vertical stripes to elongate her body she should wear free flowing tops with beautiful designs and she should wear flared jeans or slacks

Go down to the reservation and steal a wigwam, then plonk it over her head. It will look very fetching.
