I need a clearer picture of what you are doing and what you want to do.

I understand that you have a USB printer that has to be connected to a USB drive of a pc. I presume that pc is on a network and that you have defined this printer as a shared printer on the network, thereby enabling network users to run print jobs on that printer.

I do not understand your statement "...want to block pen drive for data security" as I have no idea what a pen drive is or how it affects any data security.

Are you concerned that other network users being able to access the pc's hard drive because they can access the printer? This does not have to be the case as you can share the printer and not share folders (diretories) on the hard drive.

Please clarify

click start up > run > compmgmt.msc and pass to 'Disk administration', if the device is there then it has suffered from a nasty study / write and could would desire to be formatted. XP may even grant it as a preparation. word that formatting will thoroughly wipe out despite is on that device, lots of specific you're choosing the the suitable option one.

If the problem is the usb ports, doesn't your PC have more than 2 ports? That's what I could understand...
