It is Black and Yellow in colour and has 600/7 written on the side. I want to do it up as a hobby but can find nothing on the Internet about it. If you can give me any information i would be very greatful.

You have a 60/7 which is a 600 cc. Look up R 60/7 its like the 75 or the 80. I ride an R100 they are great bikes.

600 cc horizontaly opposed twin cyl engine with shaft drive----good reliable bike,popular in its time,i had a 1978 BMW R 90 S--great bike.If you are doing it up a Haynes manual would help

For spares see www.motorworks.co.uk, they're the BMW experts in the UK.
I've been using them for years for my K100LT.
They know their stuff and aren't afraid to share it.
