14 days

Total job = 900 man days = 18 x 50
With 7 more men = 25 men

900 man days/25 men = 36 days

14 day difference

This is an inverse ratio problem, because if 18 men take 50
days, then twice the number of men will take half as long, or
half the number of men will take twice as long.

The formula for inverse ratio is :
Number of men = k / Number of days
where k is a constant.

So, 18 = k / 50. Therefore, k = 50 * 18.

Now substitute 25 (= 18 + 7) for the number of men.
25 = 50 * 18 / Number of days

Therefore, Number of days = 50 * 18 / 25 = 36.
So it takes 36 days for 25 men.

36 days is 14 days sooner than 50 days,
so the answer is 14 days.

By analysis of the facts given, we can estimate the "volume"
of the job in terms of man-days (MD).

Our equation for the volume of the job will therefore be:

MD = D x M

where D is the number of days worked and M, the number
of men working.

MD = 900 man-days THHE JOB VOLUME

Now to look for the number of days D necessary to complete the same volume of work of 900 man-days, but using 7 more men than before, we solve it as follows:

MD = D x M
MD = D x (18 +7)
MD = D x 25

Since we know the MD volume of the job aready (900 man-days), we substitute that value in our equation:

900 = D x 25
25 D = 900
D = 900/25 = 36 days NECESSARY DAYS TO
COMPLETE THE SAME
JOB THRU 25 MEN

The answer to your question then is 14 days - HOW SOONER IN DAYS THE JOB WILL BE COMPLETED BY USING 25 MEN ON THE SAME JOB: 50 - 36 = 14 DAYS

The total number of man days needed is 18 x 50 = 900

So, if 25 are hired, the number of days becomes 900 / 25 = 36

18 men in 50 days
therefore 25 men can do it in 36 days

thats is 18 x 50 / 25 = 36 using the Inverse proportion method.

18 men <---> 50 days
25 men <---> (18 / 25) x 50 days = 36 days
14 days sooner.

that gives a total of 25 men to do the works;
calculate the percentage of additional men:
7/25 = 0.28 (your work force is increase by 28%)
that means 28% of work load will be done by 7 men,
and less 28% work load for 18 men,
less 28% of 50 days = 36 days
so they can finish the job in 36 days.

18 men take 50 days
1 mann will take 50*18 days
so 25 men will take 50*18/25
and then u subtract the answer u get from 50 days
thatll be the final answer

18men-50days
1man-18*50 days
25men-(18)(50)/25=36days
days sooner=50-36=14days

I say the same amount, why because the cement or pavment still dry at the same rate, and more people means more breaks for people that want to catch up on the game!
