The problem as asked makes no sense.

A meter is a distance unit. A square meter is an area unit. A cubic meter is a volume unit.

The insulation has to be sold in cubic meter units.

He cannot want to buy 100 meters of insulation as insulation is not sold in a distance unit, only a volume unit.

There is no way insulation can be sold in square meter units - unless in the fine print it states the price per square meter at x cm thick is $1.65 (in which case, simple math can determine the cost / cubic meter.

Again, go back to your text book. Reread the problem and figure it out from there. If you cannot figure it out from there, create a new problem here.

This is clearly a homework problem.

Like gtb said. You are giving us a liear measuement, not an area . If you mean 100 square m then all you need is the thickness to figure it out.
